GUIDE TO DRAPERY STYLES

With so many options available, choosing a custom drapery or curtain style for your home can seem a bit confusing. But there isn’t a right or wrong answer, it’s a preference, and it’s made much easier by answering a few questions:

What is the style of your room? Is it modern? Traditional? Transitional?

Will you be opening and closing the drapes often or will they be just decorative and stationary to frame your window?

Do you like structured drapery or more flowing and billowy?

Once we have discussed these specifics with you then selecting a style from one of our options is easy.

FLAT PANEL AKA PLAIN TOP

Flat panels are typically used to cover larger spans with less fullness, or are used to give a relaxed or unstructured look to your window. Flat panel drapes can be hung with clip rings or rings with drapery hooks.

RIPPLE FOLD AKA ROLL PLEAT

Ripple Fold Drapery is one of our favorite styles. It's clean lined and modern, but also very functional and easy to operate. This drapery design is perfect if you will be opening and closing your drapes a lot. Ripple fold drapes glide along a track or a decorative traverse rod and can be wall mounted or hung from the ceiling.

CARTRIDGE AKA GOBLET PLEAT

Goblet Drapery has a very traditional and formal look with large cartridge shaped pleats along the top of the panels. It’s best for a decorative/stationary panels that are used to frame windows. Goblet Drapery has a large stack back. which means that when open, more fabric will cover your windows.

BOX PLEAT AKA INVERTED BOX PLEAT

Box pleat drapery is less formal than pinch pleats and goblet pleats. The Inverted Box Pleat has a neat and tailored style with a fullness on the back of the drape but a flat face surface suitable for more contemporary and casual style.

PINCH PLEAT AKA FRENCH PLEAT

Pinch Pleat drapery is our number one requested style. It is a classic style that gives a room an elegant, finished look. It is a series of equally spaced single, double, or triple pleats that are pinched in the center, forming fans above and below the pinch.

PARISIAN PLEAT AKA EURO PLEAT

A Parisian Pleat goes by many alternate names - it's also known as a Euro pleat, tailored peat or inverted pleat. It is becoming more popular since it has a little bit more modern style than a standard pinch pleat. It's similar to a French pleat except it is pinched at the very top and billows out at the bottom.
